Tail gate not closing

Good day, I bought a second hand 2007 ML 350 and found the automatic tailgate not functioning. I found water damage at the hydraulic motor and control box. After fixing all the corroded and bad connections the hatch will open when you pull the tail gate handle but not from the button on the door or the key fob. It won't close either from any button. I have to push it closed although the function that pulls it in works. My scanner reports a "Component H4/60 (Rear end door closing warning buzzer) is not connected or has a line discontinuity. I measured between pin 7 and 3 on the control module and it reads 115 ohm unplugged harness side. I can't find the buzzer and want to know if the buzzer can stop the function of the tail gate. There is no audible buzzer sound. Any help will be appreciated.

I think this is sensor that detects obstruction for the hatch. If I remember correclty, it's near right tail light.

You must re-clean both the pump and most of all both sides of the module. It must be taken apart and scrubbed clean.

It's the pinch sensor I had the issue. sometimes it just gets water and it stops working.. its the black molding by the taillights that goes up towards the roofline. Atleast try that do you have a tool that can give you more detailed info? Mbstar or iCarsoft?

I have iCarsoft and that is the only dtc it reports. How do I test the pinch sensors? Thanks for the replies.

I tested the pinch sensors and they work. I would still like to know if the malfunctioning buzzer would stop it closing.

I suggested this 4 days age and you did not respond. Did you remove the plastic covers of the closing module and scrub it clean? The black towers must also be removed and you must also replace the tail lamp seals or else you will experience future water entry.

Yes I did. I am in an electronics industry and know how to deal with water damage. Nobody seems to answer my question or they don't know. I am of the opinion that module is faulty everything else checks out ok. I have Wis so checked the wiring.
