Help changing out PCV on 2011 ML350 Bluetec
I have been using lots of oil, running Mobil1 0W-30 ESP for the DPF. I will switch to a thicker oil (I found Pentosin II 5W-40 meets 229.51), but I found oil in the intake of the turbo and figure I should replace the PCV valve. Are there any good hints on how to get to the 2 bolts holding it in? What head do they have? TIA...Bill

Judging from the amount of oil underneath the turbo inlet I would start by replacing the Turbo Seal Ring:

I'm still trying to figure out how to get my ratchet on the bolts for the PCV at the back of the engine. I can't even see the bolts, are they E10? Helpful hints there?

??? The turbo seal ring is located on the turbo inlet. When you removed the 'Y' tube you would see it. If it's missing then replace ASAP!
I had the PCV replaced years ago by my Mercedes indy shop. I believe the bolts are E10.

Duh... I'm sorry...I see its the seal between the plenum and the turbo. I don't think thats leaking, but if it was it would suck air and probably goof up the mixture. I'm not sure that would be a source of oil. I'll check it this morning when I pull the plenum to see if I can figure out how to swap the ^&*$%^# PCV. Thanks!!!

Job is done....Let's hope it helps with the oil consumption! A 10 minute job took nearly 3 hours because obviously German Engineering does not include Maintainability Engineering. These are the parts that had to be removed to get to the PCV valve.

Did you go for OEM or aftermarket PCV valve because there is a huge price difference? I am planning to replace the PCV valve as a preventative maintenance.

I used a genuine Mercedes part, ordered from Partsgeek.com. It was about $147 (USD) from them. Not sure if they ship to Albania. It was a PAIN, but its can be done. Watch the YouTube video and you will see how to remove the panels so you have access.
