ML320 Steering Slack, not the usual issues
Hi guys, first time posting here, I have searched and searched and cannot find anyone with the same problem I have, me steering wheel turns about an inch before it turns the wheels, garage has looked and said that all the tie rods track rod ends etc are fine so I’m at a loss as to what’s causing it. I have attached a video of it.

any assistance would be greatly appreciated I can’t have the only ml with this issue somebody must know what’s going on

You said nothing about the knocking sound at the end of the video. You have to remove the cover under the driver's side and do the same thing at the end of the vid. and see if coupling is loose or damaged.
If not, get underneath the car and look where the coupling is attached to the rack and pinion and have someone do the same thing at the end of the vid.
