LEAKING 2010 ML 350 BlueTec
Hi Guys, I'm new here.
I might buy a 2010 ML 350 Bluetec, 140k miles, fully loaded (Navi, full leather, tow package, sunroof, DVD entertainment etc, beautiful outside and inside.
Here's the big problem:
I took it for a test drive. Smooth as velvet. Not a rattling from the suspensions and supports. Perfect in all the leather parts and after 4/5 miles and pushing hard on the gas I smelled a lot of burnt oil!!
So I took the car to a mechanic and he said that probably there's a leak next to the turbo. "Probably" because he didn't have time to check it thoroughly.
I immediately took it back to the car dealer because it was smoking really bad from the hood!!!
He's willing to lower the price from $ 9200 to $7900 out of the door (I already knew the problem but you know, dealers, he didn't even mention it before!!) but I'm not familiar with this kind of problem. I mean, the smoke came from the rear side next to the windshield, but could be the gaskets of the turbo/intercooler, like anything underneath!!
I mean, here's in Arizona we had 145 days with 100 degrees and more, so we have to check more than carefully all the seals. I can afford to fix it once, even replacing all the seals and gaskets, but is it a reliable engine? How often Could I face this kind of problem?!
What's your opinion?

Pass on your cream puff. Next time take the car to an MB dealer for a presale inspection, it costs but much better to know up front or offer the selling dealer 2500 out the door

This place is a joke.
Don't buy any MB diesel built after 2006. You'll be very sorry. Do some research, your post tells me you have no idea what you're getting into. You mentioned BlueTec and reliable.....
