i have an W164 and there is a problem with locking/unlocking.
i need to be very close to the car or IR on handle to lock/unlock.
I tried to remove rear SAM and found some water underneath the SAM, opened the SAM and there was nothing significant.
When you press the UNLOCK button on the Key fob, does the light #4 in the PDF illuminate?
Your problem could be a number of things, door handle, or antenna or the rear SAM. You must replace the the tail lamp seals to prevent future water entry.
