ML 320 no reverse
Hello Experts.
I am have a bit of an issue with my Mercedes diesel 2007 ML320 with 130,000 miles. My wife was driving down the street and the car stopped accelerating and she had to pull to the side of the road. She could start the car but it will only go in first and no reverse. I had it towed back to the house for the time being to troubleshoot the issue. With me being overseas I had to give to a friend of mine to troubleshoot the issue. He suggest I buy aiCarsoft CR Pro Multi-Systems Diagnostic Scan Tool for Multi-Brand Vehicles +Oil Reset+EPB+BMS+DPF+SAS+ETC+BLD+INJ. I did and he had it display the following codes P0730 and P0894. The key reset was tried to no avail.
Question 1: Was this a good scanner to purchase?
Question 2: How do I fix this issue? Everything I am reading is pointing to a transmission change but the car ran great before this happened. It gave no warning and just went limp.

Yes, this is a CDI. All the modules are in the Transmission. I saw the codes ( skype) They showed "P".
I am 7000 miles here in Iraq, away from the car. Which has been a real hassle tying to figure out what is wrong.
Was the brand of scanner a wrong choice?
