ML550 Exhaust Note
Recently purchased a 2010 ML550 with the AMG appearance package. Nothing better to an aging car guy than the exhaust notes of a V8 engine. What I need help with is choosing a new exhaust system I can purchase on the internet and install myself at home. I want the deep rumble of the V8 to be heard but not so loud as straight from the headers. Could the vast experience of the people of this forum help me out? I can look at all I want but I can't hear the different options without purchasing. Maybe some of you already have what I am looking for? Oh, I am hoping to not spend a years mortgage on an exhaust system if at all possible. Thank you everyone in advance.

You might try removing the resonators first. That's a easy cheap job for a mechanic and may give you the rumble you're looking for. I did that on my ML550 and was satisfied. No drone, better highway fuel economy and now I can hear it just enough inside the cabin and it has a raspy exhaust note under heavy throttle. Might be an inexpensive solution for you.
