Ive got 2008 ML350, I know the timing chain was done at 56k miles, now the car has 106k miles. But i'm still scared cause of the horror stories on balance shaft issues.. the seller wasnt a car guy and said timing chains should be replaced every 50k miles

yeah also the chain was replaced at 55k miles so i doubt it's the trash or balancer that was installed back then!
