Emergency Brake Handle came out, E Brake stuck on.
As the title says, went to release the Ebrake and the handle just came out on my 06 ML350
Something I'd expect from a FIAT not a Mercedes.
Here's a photo. It doesn't appear broken anywhere.
Any suggestions, prior experience with repairing this?
I see a couple torx bolts for the receiver piece, need to remove those, but would prefer to
have a clue before I start, as it's raining, dark and butt *** cold.

I got lucky the sun came out today after many many days of rain and supposedly many more days of rain. So I'll be looking at that shortly. Yes I saw the same drawings you found and there is the handle and a receiver piece. Also I found a tutorial for the same problem on w163. Appears to be very close if not identical. I'll know soon and will reply back with the pertinent information.

Well it's fixed. All you have to do is pop off the side panel with a trim removal tool and use a flashlight and reattach the cable to the handle. You can remove the receiver to get a better idea of how it goes together if you need to. I initially tried to reattach the cable and then screw the receiver back in but that would take two people. One to hold the handle back while u screw in the cable I gave up and just put the handle in and was able to hook it in from the side.
there is a post out there on the internet for this exact problem with the w163 with pictures. I don't have the link handy at this moment. But it's out there if you google it.
