2006 ML500 Rear Spring Replacement
Hi,
As the OEM springs are 3 times the Aftermarket, is it advisable to go with the latter? The rear left spring has a large crack that can snap anytime. Does the new spring have to be purchased with all the top and bottom connecting pieces or the old ones can be reused?
Any removal/installation procedure will be much appreciated.
Thanks,

First you have to determine if there is a PINK or WHITE marking on it, diff. part #s.
As for the other parts, look at it this way, being that the spring is broken, wouldn't you want those parts on hand instead of waiting a couple of days to get them?
If you want to buy an aftermarket spring, that is your call to make.
Look at the bottom of the PDF for the special tools that you need.

Just because someone wrote you this nonsense does not mean you indeed should believe it. Unless of course this tool is gold plated or diamond dust painted.

Eventually I got some time at hand to tackle this job. However when I expose the coils, picture below, I don't see and color dabs or streaks, where should I look to see if they are white or pink.
Thanks
