The battery must be fully charged to perform this test.

Open the right front door and see if the overhead lights and cargo lights come on. Then open the glove box and manually push the button to see if the light goes out. If so close glove box and door. Do the overhead lights and cargo lights go out. ?

If so, reopen the right front door again & throw the door latch with a screwdriver, which will simulate the door being closed: the overhead and cargo lights should go out.

Open the hood and throw both latches to simulate being closed.

Do the same with the tailgate.

This will now give you access to the five fuse boxes. It will be your responsibility to remember pulling the door handle and the tailgate handle and the hood release handle before closing.

Putting the modules to sleep should be 1 hr. before testing because there are many modules and fuse boxes..

Morning Major! Battery not fully charged so not able to do parasitic battery drain test. Tried recharging the battery with a battery pack but only charged minimally. It's so hard to get that battery out; will have to take to shop to recharge fully. I think maybe the overhead sunroof was not completely closing not sure. Would cause drain? Also this am 1 code showed up and it's a code we've had before a year back.
Code 1974 Selector level position P; engaged due to fault occurring in A80 (ISM for Direct Select) or in the vehicle communications

Recharge it using the jump start connectors under the hood.

Maybe we are doing it wrong. We have a battery pack, called Booster PAC ES 5000. We attached the negative and positive of PAC to the car negative and positive under the hood as shown on diagram above. Really didn't charge the battery by much. I guess we should have detached the battery to car and directly charged the battery with PAC? That may be a dumb question, lol

First charge the booster. Then attach the booster and it will provide constant 12v to the car if it is plugged into house elec. socket.

Anna, before you do the test, turn the key to the ON position pull fuse (arrow) and see if it is blown. If not, reinsert and test both for 12v.

Hi Major. I hope this is what you meant on testing the fuse shown. I turned on the key, tested the fuse with a light test and it showed it was good. Then I pulled the fuse and checked the fuse with a multimeter and it showed continuity....

I will recharge the battery this afternoon with the battery pac connected to house outlet to charge car battery completely.... thank you !
