2009 ML320CDI - okay to charge with battery in car?
Hi all,
Long story short - my battery died so I had it replaced, worked for a few days, then died after not being driven for a couple of days.
I hooked the battery up to another vehicle and the accessories worked and the starter would click, but the motor wouldn't crank.
Basically, I need it towed to a mechanic, but it's down the bottom of an apartment carpark and the tow truck people are charging a fortune to get it out.
I would like to charge the battery overnight to see if that helps so I can get it out/drive to the mechanic. But it's stuck under the seat (which won't move due to dead battery), is it okay to charge the battery via the terminals under the hood with the battery still in the car?
Any thoughts, opinions or feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks!
