Rear Door Lock Issues- Spring is Good
So I have an issue on my 06 ML350.
The rear passenger door lock is having the machine gun lock symptoms I have dealt with before- hit lock and you hear it bouncing a lot.
I have fixed it on two other doors with the replacement springs.
On this door however, the spring is good.
The door will manually lock and unlock, and will unlock with the power locks as normal.
When I hit the lock button though, it just bounces.
Not sure where to go from here… I can’t figure out what the issue is and don’t really want to replace the whole thing…
Thoughts?
Thanks!!!

No codes showing on either of my two scanners (cheap WiFi one that is almost useless and a more expensive one that so far I’ve been able to read all my Mercedes codes with- not sure of make/ model though).
I should also mention that when I had the lock out of the door, it locked and unlocked fine.
seems like bolted in place, something is just not letting it lock and the signal keeps getting resent. I have had it out twice though and the other doors out replacing springs, so pretty sure it’s not anything I am doing when putting it back in.
wondering if the mechanism itself is just worn.
