ML320CDI Rack and pinion Boot Grease
Hope someone can help me, I just found out my rack and pinion boot is ripped so I'm going to replace both of them.
does anyone know what type of grease I should use for the rack to stay lubricated.

I was talking about the joint and the rack pinion shaft, similar to this image. Hope this helps. I was just worried that since the boot got ripped and I didn't catch it on time maybe dirt and water got in and it will need to be cleaned some how.

I am not interested in a photo you got over the internet. What I want to know is it leaking grease which are your words and again it doesn't have grease. It has P/S fluid running through the system. Explain this grease thing.
Understand that if you are leaking fluid, you must replace the entire rack and pinion. Read step #9 in the PDF.

Here are the procedures to replace the boots. You will still have to remove the entire Rack and Pinion. Do not purchase after market boots, only M/B boots or else you will have to do it again. Go to dealer and give them your vin# for the correct part number.
