2013 stretched timing chain? ML 350

2013 ml 350 I purchased for 15k with a 3 thousand dollar "cover anything warranty" 3rd party , couple years ago got it

CEL came on recently, it was for "bank 2 crank position sensor bad/ out of spec" I will add the exact P code

Wierd thing is, before the CEL came on, the mercedes dealership said something was up with the timing chain noise and I did not believe them, it was in for other issues. this was , lets say, a year ago.

Never heard of a stretched timing chain at 90k miles.

I took it to a trusty mechanic, he said inorder to file the 3rd party claim for the 20+ hour job, they would request receipts from oil changes and I DIY'ed them. which I dont have receipts for.

Just looking for some pointers .

Thank you in advance

This place is a joke.
You have a 166 not a 164. Is this a diesel? If so they are junk engines.

Mileage? Haven't seen timing chain problems on the m276 engine but they do have problems with cam adjusters and there are updated oil check valves available. I've never seen 3rd party warranty ask for oil change receipts, only MB when under factory warranty. You may also have oil in the wire harness causing false sensor codes.
