Can I use my fog lights as daytime running lights? 2007 W164
Hello,
i search the forum but i can't find any solution. My mercedes is 2007 European.
And In my country, it is mandatory to turn on the headlights during the day. (Main headlight, fog light or drl does not matter)
Currently, from the comfort features of the car (adjusted from the steering wheel), automatic daytime running lights are turned on. (In this mode Headlights are always on)
but I only want the fog lights to be on during the day. (I saw another ML like this in traffic today) (I have stock fog lights H3.)
I have XENTRY program and adapter. Is this possible via Xentry or otherwise?

Well, there is, like posted above using a relay. You would need a relay that would turn on with key on and off with headlights on. It's a wiring headache, but can be done.
On a side note, I think there are replacement headlight units that have simulated DRL integrated. I have looked at them but not used in person.

You can install another front bumper or only the grille's for installing DRL ( round models) together with the fig lamps. Or a bumper with LED DRL's. Programming is easy to do and can follow any configuration.
