MM272 engine, both exhaust cams retarded(intermittent)
Hello, first question in this part of the board.
My girlfriend has an ML350 2006 and it has been a moneypit.
However, straight to the point, my question is:
I have changed the balanceshaft a couple of years ago, everything went fine and engine ran good.
It still runs good, but it have developed an intermittent error in the last year.
Both exhaustcams is giving me a code and says they are retarded.
And, NOT the intake cams on any of the banks, just the exhaust.
This to me rules out that the camchain is stretched or the gear on the balanceshaft has worn out again.
As it would give me codes on both camshafts on the right cylinderbank.
What are your first thoughts?
