Replaced W164 front passenger door but not locking

Replaced W164 front passenger door but not locking
Currently own a 2007 ML350. Got hit on front passenger side and bought a 2008 front passenger door to replace it with. After installing, the lock/unlock button on door works for other 3 doors but does not lock itself also when I lock with my key the front passenger door still does not lock and I have to do it manually. Does it need to be programmed/ do I need to replace the lock actuator/ did I not install it right? Any insight?

Each door has a module thats programmed to the car. If you still have the old door, your best bet is probably to swap the module from that one into the new one.

Not yet, I don’t have the old door unfortunately. Do you have any other recommendations? Do I need to get it programmed if that’s a thing?
