Intermitten starts-stops mid-crank
I've been having this issue with 2007 ML350. Some days I start it and it starts normally, no issue. Then one day, I'll go to start, it begins the crank then just stops mid-crank. I turn the key back wait for 10-20 secs, same thing, I can repeat that in as little as 1 time or 10 times, then it starts. Battery is less than a year old, all other electrical systems seem to be working correctly, although I did have issue a couple of years ago where I had to remove the rear circuit board in rear passenger wheel well and clean, dry and re-posititon to avoid it getting wet again and of course sealing the rear passenger tail light to stop leakage. It does also show Left Rear Break Lamp message although the lamp is fine. Is all this related? I don't know. Don't know where to start. I guess the first assumption would be a starter issue, but has anyone had the same issue where it wasn't the starter? Looking for the least expensive fix or advice. Thanks!

Take this post with a grain of salt. Seeing how no one is replying then I might as well give a wildcard comment.
Ever consider the w164 Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS)? I am in no way advertising for the below service provider. I believe it was in the x164 thread where someone was having trouble with their EIS as well.

swap the starter relay?
check EIS for bad solder connection?
I watched your video, I don't know why you had to turn the key so quick.
Can you try to turn the key to ON position and wait for 5-10sec to let the fuel pump ( weak fuel pump or clogged fuel line) to pump fuel to have enough pressure , then start the car.

EIS problem usually won't let it crank as opposed to stopping mid- crank. But that's not a given. My EIS issue, the same as what Ive read is it either cranked or it didn't, and it got progressively worse over time.
