I'd start with a different car.

Wow, that’s a great response on a forum where people come to fix cars themselves buy another car.

This forum was created for people to fix our own cars to save money from going to dealerships you sound like one of those people that every time we have a problem, you take it to a car dealership or local garage, which makes me wonder why you’re even here

We come here from advice and help from others that I fix the wrong car. This is a simple, relay or fuse. To suggest a move on to another car is very bizarre considering this is a do it yourself forum

Jay, best thing to do is to get a scanner and scan the vehicle. That will tell you if any of the individual modules in each door are defective. The real downside would be if it is a SAM that is defective. That will be a bigger kettle of fish. If you don't have a scanner or the expertise, best thing would be to take the truck to a dealer or an indi in town and have them do a once-over on the vehicle and give you their opinion. That will of course be several hundred dollars.

In all fairness though, one would have to question why the seller has a Mercedes on which ALL FOUR windows are inoperable? Correct, one would expect to get help to fix things themselves. However, in a situation like this, one needs to wonder how many other things on this particular vehicle have been neglected?

I am a MB owner for many years and currently have three MB's within the family. Not one of them would be having an issue like this and problems do get addressed immediately if there is an issue.

With that said, and knowing that there are MANY vehicles out there, you cannot fault "rapidoxidation" for his comment, as he may have a point. I am sure that if the issue would arise on your vehicle after you had owned it for some time, his response would be different. He is simply cautioning you about the purchase of this vehicle due to the comments I made above.

This is also not just a "DYI" forum as you stated, this forum is for members to also share their thoughts and experiences.

How did you proceed? I also wonder why peeps post questions, but never come back with what they decided to do/how they fixed the issue?

I passed on the car. It had rot and rust on the trunk door.
