Over the last week my X case developed a hell of a rattle.
My vehicle is a W164, ML300cdi, 2010.
My questions/concerns:
1) Where is the part number located on these boxes? Is it visible from under the vehicle? - the only visible number we could see is : DCS 122 5191 CAV 04
2) Who supplies such cases? - MB in my area are useless
3) Do upgraded boxes exist? - The vehicle has 86K but she is my war horse and I can't afford to have her down.
4) Do I need any additional Gaskets when mating new X case to Gbox?
5) Are X case's interchangeable between different models?

That I do not know. I had to do loads of research before I could find just the chain at one place in California and another place with the parts needed to do the work. What I do know is that after that repair in 2020, I've had no more issues.
