W164 Power Seat Adjuster Switch Removal
Hi All, I'm newly registered for this forum but have browsed it's many threads for a few years now and appreciate the combined knowledge of its members. I have a problem with my 2002 ML350 that presents as the drivers seat not being able to be adjusted forward. I have my seat settings saved to memory and this moves the seat to my needs, even moving the seat forward, from any position. However, the manual forward/back switch only moves the seat back not forward. I have a OBD2 scan tool that provides live status of monitored sensors and this tells me that all switches operate on switch module S91 (I believe this is the correct MB identifier for the driver's seat switch module) except for the Forward switch s1, the Backward switch does actuate. This isn't a problem for me but as it is my wife's car, and she is somewhat shorter than me, she can no longer reach the pedals.
I'm thinking that if I can disassemble the S91 switch module I might be able to fix it. But, as I cannot move the seat forward to access and remove the two rear bolts I can't remove the seat. So does anyone have any experience or advice on how to remove the switch module without removing the seat?
Any suggestions humbly considered....
