MERCEDES BENZ ML350 V6 PETROL 2006 MODEL

Hi, anyone had a similar problem:
engine briefly stalls whilst driving, the first lights that come on when the engine briefly stalls are the exclamation yellow light, car red triangle, LIM yellow light together with the SRS and engine light, thereafter they disappear and engine comes back on with the engine check light coming on together with the exclamation yellow light and ESP error message.
The local garage computer indicates the replacement of the intake manifold, very costly here where I live, between $ 1500 and $ 3000.

My ML350 had the same issue and I replaced the intake manifold myself with an aftermarket one that cost around 400 bucks.
I also replaced the lever actuator that is attached to the front center of the intake manifold with an aftermarket aluminum piece as the plastic ones are the issue as they tend to break and then it renders your intake manifold flaps useless.

Do you have any mechanical aptitude?
If so the job isn't that hard as every wire and plug you have to remove is specific to where it needs to go so there is no mixing up the plugs.
The hardest part of the job was getting the gaskets to stay in place while putting the manifold in at an angle and sliding it into place.
The first time I did it my gaskets shifted after about 6 or 7 months and I was getting a misfire on cylinder 2. I had to take it out and put new gaskets in and so far, knock on wood, it's been fine since. Of course doing it the second time went a lot faster than the first because I knew what I was doing but the whole job, via doing it the first time, takes about 4 hours or so in total.

Hi,
thanks very much for the info and confirmation, I will try and source an aftermarket inlet manifold / actuator and have them replaced by my mechanic.

Before you do anything, you need to have your car scanned for codes. The problems you have could be anything and the codes will send you in the right direction. You should buy a decent scan tool that reads MB specific codes. Look at something like the Launch X431 or similar.

Changing parts on these cars is expensive so be sure you've diagnosed it properly before you warm up the parts canon.
