New Member Hi
Hi, I am here as a new member hoping to find some help. My car today just totally shut down. No power, wont jump start, I cant lock it. Over the last few days when I came to start it, I would her some type of clicking sound from under the dash and it would start but would then shutdown. I would pull out the key and try to restart and it would start up and then no problems for the rest of the day. Today it happened again and then I drove it on 4 separate occasions and one of those times it shut down after starting it. I then drove it home and since then, it will not lock or start or even anything light up on the dash. I called for road side assistance who check battery, fuses and what ever else he could and everything is ok, with battery having 12.9 volts. Would anyone have any idea what could be the cause of this issue?

Thanks for the response. I actually just had a new battery installed 6 weeks ago but it could still have a loose connection and why I was hearing that clicking sound of a connection just touching. Only problem then is how do I get to the battery with electric seats that I cant now move forward to access the battery area?

I was able to access some of the cables under the seat which got power long enough to move the seat. I then accessed the battery and notice that one of the cables to the positive terminal had a loose nut, which must of slowly gotten looser since the guy who installed the battery, supposedly done his job. I tightened the nut and all power back and everything all good now.

New part change and car starts acting up??? Anything you do after that puts a break down on the calender … Maybe because I am old as dirt but I don’t like working on a car on the side of the road or calling a tow truck.
As soon as the battery was changed and the first incident happened.. should have been right back at the battery shop. They are not the easiest batteries to change BUT don’t forget you have another battery and I would be checking on that one asap ! ok good luck
