Dreaded dead REAR SAM UNIT FAILURE !! Help me out here please. I can see the corrosion at the plugs and some of the functions not working are the gas gauge , SRS system , turn signals , remote key , alarm. What should I do ?? Would like to get back up and running asap. Thanks

Replace it....it will need to be programmed.

and see where the water is coming from- the w164 is notorious for water instrusion. My guess is its your tail light seals that will probably need to be replaced. Buy genuine MB seals. There are a few YT videos on how to replace. Place the seals on the frame- NOT around the tail light

before replacing try cleaning . clean all the corrosion and if that works spray the board with a coating . All the info is available with a few keystrokes of searching .. youtube and this forum. good luck

The rear SAM on my 08 W164 was damaged and changed due to ingress of water around the rear small right hand side window! The mentioned window had to be taken out and refitted in order to get rid of the problem!
