Power steering fluid

2009 ML350 4matic

i need to change a leaking power steering hose and will need to flush the fluid as well.
a month ago I poured in some chf11 cause that’s what my w209 took, and now I’m not sure if I ended up mixing two different kind of fluids.

is chf11 the proper fluid for this car?

You’re probably better off changing the reservoir at the same time. My understanding is that the reservoir has a non-replaceable filter in it and I’m assuming your setup is the same as mine. When I went to flush the power steering fluid in my ML63 the fluid would not come clean until I installed a new reservoir. FCP Euro has a great kit that includes the new reservoir, hose clamp, and 2 liters of Liqui Moly synthetic power steering fluid. Even if your truck doesn’t have the exact same setup I’m sure FCP Euro will have a kit for you.

rear clip

Watch a couple youtube videos.. the rear clip is the trickiest part while changing the reservoir .

I order a new reservoir (lemforder) and 2 bottles of liquid moly top tec 1200 atf. I’ll complete the power steering flush when I receive everything.

ATF is not suitable for your power steering on this car. You need to have a fluid that matches the MB Spec No. for it.
