Rear parking sensor lights up but no sound

Rear parking sensor lights up but no sound
So the SUV has had two minor fender benders in the rear where the shop had to remove the rear bumpers. What I've observed are the light do gradually go from outside to the center as I get closer to something but NO SOUND.
How do I go about fixing this?

Scanning it with a decent scan tool should reveal if there is a fault code with the sensors. Id be starting there.
Also, its common for the wiring to the rear sesnors to corrode and that's worth a look too.
