Battery reading
My 2007 ML320 CDI shows the battery reading from the jumping points as charged only 62% and poor condition but the battery is brand new and when tested directly shows as perfect.
Battery cables have no corrosion, mechanic not able to explain or provide solution.

What is the date of manufacture on the battery? You can have an “old” new battery that sat on the shelf for years without being maintained. Happened to me a number of years ago. Needed a battery and bought a nice Optima from one of the big box auto stores. Turned out it was 3 1/2 years old so that’s why it didn’t want to hold a full charge lol…!
