Rear SAM box replacement problem
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help.
I have a ML320 W164 2008.
VIN WDC1641222A441102.
Orignal rear SAM A 164 540 16 01. Replacement A 164 900 54 01.
Long story. Rear SAM box got water damaged (first time) and functions like rear back door did not open, right side back door shows open and internal light on, back lights out of order, fuel gate, windscreen wipers... list was long. Ordered parts and repaired. Only thing I did not get to work was passenger seat adjustments. Now second time it got water damaged (when we got 100mm rain in short time). It isn't repairable anymore so I bought a replacement box and fitted.
Programmed but now I have a small problem. When I open the right hand drivers door it shows on the display left hand door is open. If I have the Drive or Reverse in and open left side passenger door I get the warning about Park is not in. Yes there is a setting in the front SAM box if it is Left or Right hand driven and I have tested without fixing the problem. It is Right hand side driven.
The other issue is that I removed the drivers seat and disconnected the harness after disconnecting the battery and can't reset the code. I have light on for baby seat airbag off and SRS on the dashboard.
Don't really know if it has to do with the rear SAM box?
My concern is whether there is some difference between wiring for the left and right hand driven vehicle for the rear SAM harness connections?
I would be very grateful for any information anybody has? Does anybody have a schematic for left and right driven vehicle harness wiring for rear SAM box so I can compare?
