Hi Don_CA,
Greetings from Toronto. I am in Caledon. Getting my used 2014 Ml350 Bluetec tomorrow. My 1st Mer ever. Own a Passat TDi. Love diesels. Do you know specific Canadian Bluetec Owners group? I would also like more information regarding upgrading the infotainment. I am hoping for some inputs. Are there any tried and tested plug n play Android/Apple car play ready head units for our cars? ketanpunde@gmail.com.

2013 Mercedes ML350 W166 Flex Fuel
Hello, this is my 2nd ML350 and so fa I'm happy with these cars.
My 1st one was a 2009 Ml350 With Airmatic and 4-Matic nice car but air suspension broke many times.
My 2nd is a 2013 Ml350 (w166) with M276 Engine. This one now gives me a problem with High pressure fuel pump (pump is about $700.00)
My friend gave me a Pump for free but I need Instructions to put it in. Does anybody can provide help with?
I don't wanna go to the dealer for this.
Thank you for any help

Mass Air Flow Sensor
Hello to the Forum again,
I think I have a Bad Mass Air Flow Sensor on my W166 but I have no Idea where it is located.
Does anybody knows this and can provide with information (Picture) how to find this thing?
It should not be expensive and easy to replace.
thanks for any help in advance

the Mass Air Flow sensor is located on top of the engine. They are two sensors built in a plastic air duc. Not hard to be replaced. The part is so expensive. Cost exceed $1000. The dealer fixed my for $2560. There is a video about it. https://youtu.be/Fk-da3O8mHQ

Really? So according to you, pretty well anybody should have the knowledge and manual dexterity to do their own repairs? Like, really?
I've been anxious to have the fuel filter replaced on our ML. I think I'll ask Granny if she has any free time *wink*
As far as indies are concerned, it's way more of a crap shoot as to whether they have competent techs and if they have a penchant for raping clients.
Having said that, I have found a couple indies in Montreal area that are pretty good and honest.

That's just my opinion. Was not meant as an insult, and if it came down as one, I apologize.
Not sure how things are in Canada, but down here, in Houston, a good Indy that does only Mercedes/BMW will not exceed $85/hr. With the possibility of bringing your own parts, if one choses so. Same thing in NY/NJ, my last mechanic was an independent who had the driveway full of cars brought from the Mercedes dealership.
Reason: he was the last resort for cars that could not be fixed at the stealership. Sad, but true.
He charged $90/hr last year IIRC.
I am sure there are a lot more examples. My point: finding a good, trustworthy Indy is key, unless you're handy and could do it yourself. The stealership route leads to bankruptcy, unless one has cash to burn.
Again, just my opinion.

Covered under warranty.

In my case, the replacement cost was covered under warranty. So there is no reason not go to dealer. . Just information for forum member how much it will cost if dealer perform that work.

Hello Guys ,
I have been fighting same issue with Mass airflow sensor 6420901742 on my 2015 ML350 W166 ,I got it resolved by buying a used unit which had one Maf sensor failed and mine had one failed so made one assy out of two but it last about 3 months and Back to square one.
I wanted to ask the group what will happen if I replace with 6420901642 instead of 6420901742 as 1642 is lot cheaper than 1742 .I can even buy whole assy of 1642 for $150 at aliexpress shipped from china.

Hi, I am new to here and Mercedes. I am in Toronto. I just got a 2014 ML 350 Bluetec gifted to us by my father in law. I may ask some questions, but I have been reading already. So far I learned that I think I have a NTG 4.5/4.7 Command head unit and I cannot get Android Auto on it
If you change your head unit you can get one! I’ve done it mate
