How did you obtain free lifetime maintenance? We are in the process of obtaining our 3rd maintenance in a row and we have to negotiate a 3 year maintenance into it and never heard of a FREE lifetime maintenance program.

When you guys negotiate price for builds in the future, are you guys just putting down a deposit, such that you guys can cancel? Or, by negotiating price up front, are you locked into the purchase and have to pay up front? Just curious to how this process works. For instance is the conquest discount based on this month or the month the car is built? Thanks guys.

Typically, unless you order something really weird, deposits are refundable if you change your mind. Read the fine print (yes, get it in writing). I did not have to place a deposit as this is my 3rd ML from this dealer. The Conquest discount is based on what is in effect at the time of delivery. Some Fleet discounts are good for a year. The MBCA discount is availabe to eligible members once a year.

Thanks Greg...but you guys negotiate price ahead of time correct? My dealer says they don't negotiate price until delivery since prices/discounts can change. I guess that can be good in terms of more supply by then, but on the flip side, I'm worried I may be held up since I've already waited 3 months for the exact ML I wanted...so they have more leverage in the sense that they know they have the only exact build I'm looking for.

Yes I do need it "now" but I know I'll be waiting for a little while. Why would I refuse delivery?

You're right, they now have the leverage advantage. No reason they can't negotiate invoice + up front.

Some of you have talked about price + Conquest, but do we know for sure whether Conquest will still be around in a couple of months? Has the incentive been going on for a long time at a consistent rate? It appears to be a month to month thing from what I understand. I've also heard some of you mention some other discounts, that maybe an annual thing. Can we compile everything together with a little more detail. For instance:

Conquest Discount: $2K (month to month) - When switching brands
Loyalty Discount: $XK (time frame) - defined
Fleet Discount: $XK (annual?) - defined

I think that would be really helpful for newbies just looking into the ML like myself. Thank you guys in advance. Appreciate the help.

ML-350
Hello
I am buying the 2012 or the 2013 ML-350. I am confused about all the discounts acronyms. Can you please explain it in a simple terms. about pricing, what should I be negotiating when dealing with a bare model no options?. MSRP, Invoice..... how do I findout I am getting a good deal rather than being at the mercy of the salesman?
Thanks

My dealer is telling me $300.00 over invoice for a 2013 ML350 Bluetec if I pre-order one, does this sound like a decent deal? I expect I should ask for the factory invoice to get the accurate invoice, correct......

Sorry but some of you folks must have done lots of drugs. Invoice is what the dealer pays for the truck. Some do get incentives and volume bonus but that's theirs. So $300 over run straight to dealer don't pass go hurry QUICK. The ML is high demand low/no supply. I'm getting 3.5 to 4% off in Ontario.$2500-2900 off

Yes, that's a good deal. Some have reported better, but I'd be happy with that. I would expect the dealer would share the invoic with you, but roughly take 6% off list.

I used Edmund's price quote service when I was looking for a 2012 ML350 Bluetec. Responses I received were mostly right around invoice. One dealer quoted a price 12.5% below MSRP and I jumped at it. Bottom line, MSRP is $64,290 and I paid $56,247. The car should be here in the next couple of days. Putting the car out to bid is the way to go in my book if there are a number of dealers in the area.

Leased ML350 Bluetec on 5/12. MSRP was 58,245, paid $55,581. That was the only ML350 Bluetec in inventory.

How do you put the car out to bid to several dealers? Are you calling each dealership or emailing dealerships?

Hi. If you go on to edmunds.com you'll have the opportunity to build your car and get the TMV price. Once that's been done you should see an option to get a quote from multiple dealerships. Just click on that option and the configuration will be sent to the internet sales department at the various dealerships you've chosen. I was shocked at the speed of response. Within an hour of having sent the configuration I had received calls from every one of the dealerships I'd chosen. The first call came in within 10 minutes!

I'm leary about giving out the name of the dealership, for whatever reason. In the end that likely doesn't really matter. It's the process that yields the results - at least in my case.
