How to remI've headlight
Anyone have a schematic on removing the headlamp unit? I'm working on a little project and need it. Retrofit of hid bulbs.

Got a way to fit the bulbs in, but computer system triggered an error message and turned off the light. Any way to bypass or fix this?

Thanks for keeping us updated. Being a November build, I'll have the halogens. I'm interested in a xenon mod, but only once the bugs are worked out. I applaud your energy in being an early adopter!

Finished the mod over the weekend. $60 kit, incredible. These things used to cost $1000 before. Go Ebay!
Well, it definitely required modifications and cuts to the rear headlight screw cap, taking apart the bulb holder and modifying the bulb metal base holder. ( just had to fold one little tab down). Everything else was trial and error. but it works!
I got a 5000K bulb that was supposed to be white, but has a blue tint. So i just bought another bulb in factory 4300K from another ebayer for $12 shipped. These things are so cheap and come with 2 year warranty!

My 2012 A6 with LED headlights is on the left. Much Whiter, so I'm getting new bulbs sent to me for the ML

Nice work but did you run into any issues with the flickering? Sometimes my headlights wouldn't even turn on unless I restart the car. I tried over 3 HID kits already and still have the same problem. Also tried installing capacitors and failed. Last resort maybe I can try a relay directly to the battery source. Let me know what kit you ordered from Ebay that worked for you. Thanks!

lighting links I used with no error messages.
HID KIT H7 5000K color

HID error warning capacitor

High Beam city light in LED white/light BLUE
http://www.ebay.com/itm/140611635801...84.m1439.l2649
Lastly i got 4300K bulbs but havent tried them on yet.

Originally i didn't like the blue color of the 5000K bulb, ebay seller sent me a free pair of OEM labled bulbs which were supposed to be 4300K but upon comparing the 2, the 4300K bulb was more blue? Now the 5000K bulb which is older is becoming more white and OEM looking. the 2nd set of bulbs that I ordered were the same identical as the free pair the original seller sent me so I don't think it's going to be any better, but we'll see. It's my wife's car and just hadn't had the time to test out the 2nd pair of bulbs since I have to silicone some slits i had to put in the rear cap cover to seal the headlight assembly.

Wow thanks jtorrebl for the info! I just ordered the relay kit too :/ hopefully that fixes it. If not I'll definitely go with your suggestion since it's working for your wife's vehicle. Good job and thanks for sharing

Not satisfied. I've been trough 3 sets of bulbs and they all have that crappy blue cheap blue look that all the cars in the hood have. I'm still looking for other kits though. Light output is not good either. Just took a trip to Vegas and drove at night back. Light output was ok but not as good as stock, but not too sure since I put this kit on soon after I got the car. I don't want to go back to stock though so if I don't find something I'll just hope to see the color fade to a more white.
