Lease Price
Hey all,
I'm pretty confident I'm getting a good price on this but I'd like to hear your opinions on this.
2012 Ml350 4matic - MSRP: $54,135
(with P1 package & running boards)
-36 month lease
-$3,000 total out of pocket
-$698 per month
Considering Mercedes is running a program of $640 a month with $5,000 down (not including taxes & fees, etc...) I think my dealer is giving me a good deal.
Thanks

What is the residual value at the end of the lease and what interest rate did they quote you (or the money factor)? Was this though MB Financial?

Love your CLK Black Series btw!

I'm not to sure of either of those . When pricing a lease I usually just negotiate the lease price down to an amount I'm happy with and sign the contract haha... I have a lot of experience with negotiating leases but I haven't gotten a chance to compare this number to another dealers. If it helps, the final negotiated price is $50,xxx (I don't have the paper in front of me to be exact). Thanks for any help.

I lease my wife BMW 5 series every 3 years. You need to figure out the Money Factor and Residual First. Negotiate price first then ask to lease.... NEVER just go by payments because there is a good chance they are selling you the car over invoice and charging you excess on the money factor. You won't believe the ***** they have tried to pull on me over the years.

Yes so:
1) Offer 300 above invoice (use Edmunds)
2) Check on conquest cash, I believe it is around 4000 off now if you drive a BMW, Cadillac, etc.
3) Make sure the money factor is 0.00195 (.00225 on bluetec) if it is any more than that walk (they are screwing you to get a profit)... Use 10MSDs and get that money factor down.
4) 65% residual on 30 month and 60% on a 36 month. Add 2 percent more for 12k miles and 3 percent more for 10k miles.
5) He will likely screw you on Doc fees, but being that you have leased bf you probab already know that...
6) use an online calculator to check their math...

Thanks for the insight! I should have figured I was going to be misunderstood. I do negotiate the price and the lease number follows accordingly. I will never pay full sticker for a car lol. The price at which I am getting the ML is at invoice I'm pretty sure, or just a few hundred above.
Most dealerships have an alternative bank to MB fianncail for the high worth customers with elite credit and you can usually beat MB financials money factor.
The region where you live will have some bearing on the deal due to demand and the avilabiity of the car your wanting to lease. Show up with a calculator and go slow. Remember MB dealers get a 3% holdback so they don't have to make all the money up front like BMW.

I'm a novice to the lease process. I have a 12 ML350 on order and will be leasing it utilizing the USAA discount to get the sales price down to $2000 under invoice. Heat Fan, what is the "money factor", and "10MSDs"? I plan on giving them $5000 on the front end and using the car 12k miles/year. They haven't given me a monthly price yet, so I'd like to know what would be considered a great deal. Thanks for commenting.

I learned about security deposits from BMW, but it seems that you can actually cut the Money Factor even more with Mercedes. With BMW you get all this money back at lease end, I don't know about Mercedes.
"MSD is to buy down money factor, Mercedes allows 10 MSDs, 1 MSD will lower the money factor by .00007 so 10 will lower the MF by .007"
Also, unless you don't care, I never ever ever put money done on my leases as if something happens and that car is stolen or totaled, you will loose all that money you put done already. But it's your call.

To everyone else thanks for the info I haven't gotten a chance to run the numbers yet I've been so busy but I will.
*Also I forgot to mention my lease number was based on 15,000 miles per year.

Yea your deal sounds pretty good. But doesn't seem right for the acquisition fee to be $1095. That total money down has helped reduce the payment as well. How did you get the selling price? I feel part of the fees went towards the selling price as well.

I was told that on the 2012 ML/C coupe models max incentive applicable was $2,000, I had already received that. Does anyone know if it's $4,000? I wonder if my salesman is trying to avoid the additional $2,000 incentive. Although I am getting the car at 4,000 under sticker.

You sure? MB Fort Lauderdale told me last week 4k. I didn't really get into negotiations now though because the xenons are pretty much a deal breaker. Maybe she meant it will be 4k by the time the lights are in production, but I was almost sure she meant that conquest was 4k now???
