Is the Auto-lighting issues Fixed on the W166?

Many owners of the W164 and GL are experiencing erractic behaviour of the auto-lighting where the headlights will suddenly turn on in bright sunshine and would not turn off for the duration of the trip. This happens at all times of the day and in my case almost every day or every other day. I've had my light sensor changed but still the issue persists.
This issue affects MLs + GLs in US, Canada, Europe & Australia as per posts in my thread in the W164 forum.

I hope the owners of the W166 here can keep a look out on your vehicles to see if the auto-lighting issues have been fixed. I would greatly appreciate if any 2012 ML owners can post their comments.

Thanks in advance.

I didn't notice it happening on my 2012... but can't say I was exactly checking all the time. When I get back to town I'll pay more attention.

I haven't noticed any lighting issues in mine but I've only driven about 800 miles so far.

We have had ours for a few weeks now. No notice of this happening.

Thanks for the replies.
Looks like the auto-lighting is working properly in the new W166.
Congrats to you lucky owners.
Now I can consider getting one when my lease is up.

I saw a new ML driving yesterday near my work with the headlights on. It was 2:30 in the afternoon and it was the only car with the headlights on. Either the lights are still not working properly or the person still doesn't know how to use the light control (they left the headlights on)

In my W164 ML the lighting switch is defaulted to the Auto setting and you cannot switch to the Off setting.
I think the W166 is also set to Auto lighting.
Can the new owners confirm this?

If so then it looks like the W166 may inherit the same Auto-lighting system from the W164.
