Confirmation of lighting package delay

Hey, the photos are fine! I'm one of those guys that has my vehicles delivered without all the extraneous badging (including model), so I'll reserve judgement on the etching until I see it - if my ML is ever delivered!!
Not sure how others feel, but IMO M-B is getting a bit GM-like with all the crap they stick on now - BlueEfficiency, turbo, 4Matic, etc. Just clutters up an otherwise beautiful surface!

Lighting package questions
I didn't know that top curved strip was normally on with amber light - those are the turn signals, right? And I assume the inset lights at the lower inside are cornering lights? Why are the lower LEDs not on in thse photos - is that because of a DRL setting?

EDIT: I think I get what your saying: I don't think the turn signals are lit... I believe that may be the lighting in the dealer that is making them look lit, or possibly some light bleed from the LED fiber strip bellow it. Could be wrong.

The car was in the showroom and not running. The amber "torch" lights are the parking lights. The turn signals were not lit; they are the strip of LEDs right next to the torch.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is possible to change the LED for the amber torch to white, similar to the kits available for the newer BMWs with the corona rings.

Is it possible that the camera flash is reflected in the amber strip? It is very dissapointing that MB chose to roll out a new model before it was really ready. as ive posted before dealer says 2 ml 550s coming in with lighting pkg and pano roof. I dont want the roof or 550 but may have to lease it. X5,Cayenne is starting to look better by the minute

how did you request not to have the badging?
is that something you asked your SR?
will they give you the lettering and the badging on delivery (in a bag or envelope if you decide later to add it on there)?

Fishing line is your friend. There's a badge delete code for Europe; doesn't apply for NA.

I have also done the deed myself, and while fishing line would work, simply twisting the letters/numbers will also do the job. Then, you need to remove the remaining adhesive, and buff out the spot.
I'm a bit of a minimalist - I prefer only the Star. I've never understood why anyone needs to know the model, whether or not is it turbo, supercharged, 4Matic, has intelligent lights, etc. etc. But I recognize that is a highly personal preference and not everyone agrees.

Was told delivery will be May 2012, at the earliest, possibly June.

ordered january 4 -2012 and was given an april 10 2012 delivery date
with pano and lighting.was told of delay for lighting availabilty was march wich is no problem for me, but i was not aware at the time of all these stories on the forum.spoke to salesman 1 week later and he assured me of delivery april 10 at the latest maybe before.

YYZ which dealership was this vehicle at? Wish they were white LED's for sure.
I hopefully have my Tenorite 350 with lighting pkg and sport pkg coming March 12th....Fingers crossed.
