Delivery delay

Today was the day my car was to be delivered. Per the dealer it was completed on the 13th but still at the factory awaiting transportation. Maybe I'll get it by the end of the year. Maybe. :-(

If it's coming from Germany it's typically 3 weeks transit and customs. Of course you could ask them to airfreight it. Then you have a chance to get it in 2011. ;-)

Mine had a build date of 11-16-11 and was supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I was notified that it’s still at the plant awaiting parts. I've heard there is a wheel shortage which may be what's stalling delivery of our cars.

It's assembled in Alabama, with a good part of US content. I think the engines and trannies still come from the Motherland.

Transportation from within the US has some issues due to Union rules and whims.
Cars from Germany have a more "organized" way, so transport is more efficient and predictable, and once they land, it's Customs, load and off they go.

***UPDATE****

The SA called today and said it was "on the truck". Typically it takes 2 days from Alabama. So sometime this week looks good. :-)
