Diesel Hesitation and Bucking

I just got off the phone with the Shop Foreman at my dealership who says he just heard from MB Germany that the fix is further delayed. He admitted to me that he has been aware of the problem since September and agrees that they should not be delivering these models to customers.

This is unreal. Thanks for the update. My wife almost got into an accident because the car had no power to accelerate. She forgot to warm it up (Even when you warm it up you still get the hesitation and bucking) and was in a hurry. In the past 8 years I have owned 11 Mercedes, I can tell you that I have lost all faith and trust in this brand. There is no way people should be taking delivery of these cars.

Not to discount what everyone is posting here, but the adblue tank And bucking problems have went away since the dealership reflashed the computer. And I have a w166. Its a 2012 ml350 blutec that I took delivery of the end of November.

Where is your dealer? A higher up at MBUSA confirmed that the update is not ready from Germany yet, and 2012MLBlue confirmed the same. Did they give you any more info as to what software update we should be asking for?
#31
I honestly have no idea what update they did for the truck. The service rep just told me that there was a software issue and they reflashed the truck computer. The dealership is Helms Bros. In flushing NY.

Guys I am looking at moving into a new 2012 ML550. Waiting for paperwork. The dealer just got one in and I think I might take it.
Bloody BlueTec.
Might be time for a 402 hp twin turbo speedster!

I don't know why the bucking issue would be better, however.

This is disturbing to read.
Granted we are at the end of February - I have a build date of April 1st with an est. delivery time at the end of the same month for a 350 BT. I'm hoping this issue is worked out by then and all ML's being built as we speak do not come with this issue.
I can't imagine taking delivery of the ML with a known going on problem.

SO they admit there is a problem and they continue to sell them. Yea, sounds like FRAUD to me.

This sounds like a classic case of FRAUD. To knowingly sell a defective vehicle for monetary gain. That is a CRIME. My guess is that none of the people requesting another vehicle, like me, will ever see a lemon law case. They will more than likely just do a buy back.

My observations so far after picking up my truck on Saturday and driving it for 3 days, it’s a Bluetec
It’s been below zero in Vancouver for the last few days in the morning. When driving first thing the morning after 30 seconds from starting the engine. I’m going uphill after about 50 meters of straight driving when I pull out of my driveway and I did notice that the truck hesitated when getting out of first or second gear. I feel that the truck suddenly breaks (soft one though) and pulls you back. It's hard to explain. This happened as soon as I hit the accelerator for an extra push up the hill when the truck switched gears and it made me a tad nervous. So after about a minute and a half in I decided to go back to same spot and see if it would happen again... It didn’t
The same thing happened again this morning and by the time I came around the block to the same spot I couldn’t make it happen again... seems to me it’s only happening when the vehicle isn’t warmed up, I haven't owned a diesel before is this normal??
It seems that once warmed up it hasn’t happened again to me but nevertheless it’s still bothersome. Keep in mind I’ve only had it for a few days. I picked it up off the lot with only 15km on and I'm up to about 110km now. I will be contacting my dealer tomorrow and explaining the situation, keep you all posted....

Got a vin on a diamond white ML550 coming in next week. Has the lighting package, drivers assistance package with distronic plus, luxury package, hitch, black leather and black roof liner.
I am signing paperwork and dumping the BlueTec. Just writing a new lease and it's more money for the 550 but I am excited about 402 HP, xenons and distronic plus.
Turning very sour lemons into speedy lemonade!

Just got back from test driving a new 550 and its amazing. Great exhaust note even at idle and so much power. I didn't complete beat it due to the low kms on it but man I am looking forward to driving one.
The lights are great and I fiddled with the distronic a bit but wasn't beind any cars to get a test of the braking feature.
Lease payment is quite a bit more than the current BlueTec so not only will I spend a lot more on premium gas I will be spending about 25-30% more each month, not counting speeding tickets!
Should take delivery next Tuesday or Wednesday when mine arrives at the dealership.

Just got mine back, I'm not sure if it's fixed however since I won't be driving it for a couple hours, giving it a change to get nice and cold...

I got a call from my dealer this morning & will be dropping off my ML tomorrow for the software update.
They suggested they want to keep it for a few days & test it out in the morning to make sure everything works out...
I will keep you posted
Cheers

Any feedback on vehicles that have been updated with the software patch?
My 350BT goes into production in about three weeks and I have this week remaining to make any changes, should I chose to do so.
I had preferred the diesel but would switch to the gas version if this problem is still prevalent in the new builds.
Thank you in advance.
