ambient lighting problem?
Hi All,
I just picked up my truck from the dealer today and just noticed that the ambient lighting is no longer working neither is the lighting on the door sill... I had software update done for the transmission problem and I'm wondering if this caused a malfunction in the lighting, any ideas?
Thanks!

Tried all that, everything is enabled & at the brightest setting.... I called the dealer and they are going check it out. I’m guessing something happened when they did the software update, back to the dealership I go
Thanks though!
Thanks though!

YYZ-E55: Are the illuminated door sills standard in Canada on the 2013 ML-550. Are they part of the ambient package. Or they should be ordered separately. I had them installed on my W164 for over $1200. I could not find any info on MB website. Thanks.

The illuminated door sills (front only) are included with ambient lighting package, which is standard on all MLs for Canada.

YYZ-E55: Many thanks for the info. I am in the process of configuring my 2013 ML-550 and will have to order it in the next few weeks. My Dealer told me MB are delivering the 550's and 63's drop by drop in order to keep a lower consumption average. Hence I need to place an order in April and book my slot for a August/September delivery.

Either way, congrats on the car - sounds like you'll get a MY13. Active multicontour driver's seat will be available

YYZ-E55: This is coming from a Dealer who has in the showroom more SLS Convertible than any other model. Their preference is and was always to sell the showroom models. I have been dealing with them since 20 years and I am sure their intention is honest. Their service is outstanding. Most buyers here drop to the showroom to get whatever is available regardless the color, engine or options. MB is selling them like hot cakes thanks to the local boiling economy. None of the SA is knowledgeable like the regular subscribers to MBWorld.org, not even close. So I leaned not to expect from them the type of advanced info which we thankfully get from you the experts at this forum. I will hold my configuration for few weeks just in case MB comes with additional interesting options for 2013 such as 360 deg. camera. That will be a treat. I do not want to miss anything.

GregW: Thanks. In my experience, Door Sills are better installed at the Plant and not the Dealership. During their installation on the W164 the Dealer discovered that none of the pre wiring was available. It took them six hours to complete after ripping off all the carpeting. The factory installed sills on the C-350 look so much better on the fit and finish.

ambient lighting problem
I want to say thanks to all of you for all of the information this site has made available to me. I have learned a lot from the folks that have been focused and studying Mercedes Benz for what appears to be many years now.
I ordered my first MB last month, based on information available to a typical buyer -- sales agents, websites, what you see on the road. Three days here is like getting the MB MBA with people focused on a product they either love or hate. Experts, apparently from the factory, certainly from within MB, are also involved, providing direction and expertise. My order will change as a result of what I've learned.
You have tought me to weigh the variables, find more than was previously available and will likely help me make a better choice.
One caution - and I think of you Greg... With 30 years in IT at an F100 company, I can assure you that things will change in all areas faster than you could ever anticipate. These cars are more closely related to what one would experience with computers than anything else. In that world the cutting edge alway represented cost and risk. Fiduciary responsibility almost always put me in a position of laying back.
I look forward to the next posts!!!!

Sorry to bring this old thread back up, but what was the result? Did the whole panel have to be replaced?
