Geez, krazyvshank, that June 1 build sounds really close to the start of MY '13 builds (based on above posts). Have you given consideration to holding out for a 2013? I gotta admit, I am thinking about it now - in fact, I dropped my SA an email this morning on that very topic. We shall see.

I will post as soon as I have information. I know many have been toying with waiting for the new MY.

My SA confirmed today that the 2013 ML's will not have the "surround camera" option...bummer.

It may not have the 360 degree camera but it will have a night vision camera. It will be a separate option somewhere around the $2000 price tag. I talked with my SA about it the other day because of the terrible deer problem out here where I live. It is deep in the country and there are no street lights for many miles - pitch black. The problem, however, is that the image may be sent to the center console screen. In other Mercedes models, the image is shown in the instrument cluster which is much, much better. I would not have one of those if I had to look away from the road at the center screen to view the camera image.

2008 Honda CR-V, 2013 ML350 on order
Twodivers -

I am thinking the 2013 ML might not be available for delivery until Aug/Sep 2012. I will check with the dealer too. Also, I don't mind getting the 2012 model in June if there is a good summer sales event incentive.

One thing I am confident the 2013 ML will have is the Color MFD/Instrument Cluster. I say this because the 2012 GL Instrument Cluster is similar to the ML and if you notice the press shots of the 2013 GL, the instrument cluster has a color screen.

2012 ML 350 BT, 2016 E400 Coupe (preping to order soon)
Good news! I spoke with my SA this afternoon and learned that my car is in production. The original build date I received was April 20, so it appears the factory may be running ahead of schedule. Sooner is better...

To those interested in the 2013 ML, I found this online:

http://www.donlen.com/buildstart-mercedes-benz.aspx

It appears to indicate, assuming this is a valid piece of information, that the last date to order a 2102 ML is April 11, you can start ordering the 2013 ML shortly thereafter and production start-up for the 2013 ML will begin mid-June.

Our build date was supposed to be April 16th so if yours was supposed to be the 20th maybe ours is already built? What kind of options did you order? We have the lighting package which was delaying it.

Hey RJR - I had the lighting package also, which is what delayed my build to this point. I ordered it on Feb. 10. FYI, my SA indicted that their system will provide the following status information: build date, in production, prepped to ship, shipped and, once it's on the road or rail, an anticipated date for receipt at the dealership.

Thanks for the link - that production date agrees with what YYZ told me months ago. If that's the case and I can get an early production date, I'll definitely go for the '13, even if I lose the Dynamic Curve System.

Looks like they're a week ahead of MY12order shutdown.

Have you decided if you're getting the 2012 or waiting for the 2013? I spoke to my SA at Hendrick (Fred) and he said that he doesn't mind changing my order to a 2013 but at this point he thinks that it might not be available for delivery until July/August and that is purely his guesstimate.
I really like that the 2013 has the color instrument panel and the ambient lighting included in P1, but I don't want to wait beyond July. It's also good that a 2WD is coming, but not sure when that'll be. Also, I don't want to end up paying a lot more for my configuration for the MY2013...still confused, LOL.

Krazyv,

Haven't physically been to Hendrick, but have asked my SA for some time this week. GregW posted the MY '13 order guide here: https://mbworld.org/forums/new-m-cla...rder-info.html

Everything is still available, and it looks like option pricing has held. No more P2, but the P1 is now $3900, and includes everything that was in P2 except for Keyless Go and the HK Audio - both are available as separate options.

In your case, it seems that you may end up paying more (but getting more) for a '13.

I'll touch base after I visit the dealer and get a better sense of when a vehicle can be built.

The production start date on that list maybe when the vehicles start in body shop.
Usually the next model starts coming through the assembly shop the last week of June although it may be different this year, I dont know.

Well, I have decided to stick with my '12 order. SA doesn't have any MY '13 allocation yet (which makes sense), let alone any "changeable orders". My '12 is a P1, and could be built earlier. The only thing I'd like in the '13s is Airmatic, but I just can't see waiting - given the dealer has no idea when MLs may be available. Given the option availability issues with the '12s, I'm not willing to risk going the summer without an ML.

My SA says he has '12s being built in July - can that be true?

Pano roof

I just ordered an ML350 at the end of March and have been told there is a hold up on pano roofs. Is this right? Also that the delivery date will be in August; does it make sense to order a 2013? Thanks

Enter your location in your profile (yes, I know your username is pretty telling). Yes, the Pano and Lighting packages have had limited availability, which will probably continue for a while. Best information is 2013 orders will be taken very soon, but first deliveries may not be until mid/late September. Might be worth waiting, but there are no guarantees on timing at this point. See the separate thread on MY2013.

Pano roof

I am told that the pano roof is what is holding delivery up until August. Two questions... I have read conflicting testimony here on the pano roof, those who like it, really seem to like it, but others seem to think it is no big deal. I guess life style and if you plan on having folks in the back seat are the main pluses... anything else? Second, are they planing to offer the pano in 2013 and anyone's guess on if it will hold up production at the beginning of the year as badly as it is doing at the end of the MY? Thanks.

We are kind of in the same boat; big difference is the pano roof may hold up delivery until August; notice the may? Don't know if this means earlier or later is possible. SA doesn't know either... I would hate to drop pano roof... but I would like to be driving the ML right now.

I don't often carry people in the back seat, but I'm getting to lighten up my mostly black interior (no option with Sport). Secondly, I like the black roof from the front on a white car.

Pano is offered for 2013, but availability is anybody's guess; likely it's still limited. I'm afraid if I cancel my MY12 order and go with the '13 I'm going to loose the priority I have now for my special options, so I'm staying with the '12.
