Greg. Thanks. Great info. We now have confirmation for the color MFC. The top view camera looks to be just a rumor because it is not mentioned. The Soft Close Doors feature is not clear whether it belongs to a package or stand alone since no price is tagged.

YYZ: do you have this info for the Canadian configuration. Please post it if you can. My SR is a bit slow for this kind of service and sharing such info is a sin. He will resuscitate only while signing the contract. I am still waiting since 6 weeks for a test drive for lack of demo units which are sold while unloading from transport.

No real changes from MY12 other than the known small items (color display, etc).

GregW, thanks for posting the 2013 order info. Do I read it correctly? It looks like the off-road package is not available with the BlueTec? Is that correct, or I wonder if its intended to be released later? Is the off-road package available in Europe with BlueTec? If its not available, what is MB thinking? "You're killing me Smalls." The best configuration for off-road is the high torque of diesel. Maybe too high torque for the driveline in locked up mode? If so, they should de-rate the motor, or beef-up the driveline.

That is odd, but that's the way I read it now.

Off-road package was not available on the 164 with the BT due to the AdBlue system. I'll look into it tomorrow.

Placing a MY13 order

My SA is holding my 6/5 build order for now, but I'm also placing an order for the same configuration as a '13. He says he still has '12's being built in July, so timing is still an unknown.

Options
R33 20” Twin 5-spoke wheels - $750
413 Panorama sunroof - $1,090
550 Trailer hitch - $550
810 Harmon Kardon sound system - $810
866 Rear seat entertainment prewiring (still includes 242?, or can 242 be ordered separately?) - $240
883 KEYLESS GO - $650

Special Request Options
SPC Special order charge - $250
P95 Interior sports package - $0
U09 MBTex wrapped dashboard - $300
Y90 Black headliner - $0

Greg, how did you reach an agreement on price? So many things are still up in the air. Did you request a certain % off of the MSRP, whatever figure that might be when everything is determined? In other words something like "I'll buy the car for 8% off sticker price" or what? That is what I'm thinking of doing but I am still uncertain as to how these things work. Also, what is Active Curb System?

Greg - could your SA actually configure these two options together? I tried with my SA on my '12 order, but 942 couldn't be configured with 888 (which was part of P2). I guess they don't want to have two versions of the locking compartment cover - one "regular" and one accommodating the Cargo Management rails.

Let me know if this holds up, thanks.

My agreement is invoice +$. I didn't negotiate too hard on this one because it's a dealer and salesperson I have a relationship with.

Active Curve System is described here: https://mbworld.org/forums/new-m-cla...ve-system.html

I think you are correct on that. I was not remembering that.

Thanks.

2008 Honda CR-V, 2013 ML350 on order
Hi Greg,

Thanks for sharing this information. I spoke to my SA and he said he is ok to cancel my current order and place one for MY2013, but he says that the price will not be available until July or so.
Any idea when the base price will be made available? Also, do you know if the 2WD model will be available from July? I am interested in it for a slightly better mileage with gasoline.

I would guess there will be a maximum 2% price increase, but that's purely a guess. I have not heard anything about 2WD version availability.

Thanks for the link on the Active Curve System. I understand it very well now and can see where it would be beneficial to some types of drivers. As for my pricing question, I see that you are going from invoice (plus) rather than MSRP (minus). That may be the smarter thing to do.

YYZ: Thanks for your help. There is no mention of the Soft Close Doors. Is this feature available for Canada.

IMO, motorizing the doors is just asking for additional maintenance issues.

Here is my new order that will replace my 2012 order, depending on availability.

Sweet vehicle! I know you will enjoy it. Am I reading this correctly? Sport interior WITH Satin Ash. Maybe I do have to nix the '12 and order a '13!!

BTW, I notice you appear to have given up on the BlueTEC.

Nope. I'm guessing that together with the 20" wheels they will be at or near the old Dynamic Handling Package price of $5,150. Given that the R33 wheels are $750, that would put AIRMATIC, Adaptive Damping and Active Curve at around $4,400. Seems like if you get the two you list you should get the Adaptive Damping as well.

Nice configuration. Honestly, both you and YYZ should get a free car each from MB as appreciation to all the help you are volunteering to this forum. Are you listening MB?

I'll settle for a commission on upsell of special order options. Between Greg and I, I think we've sold at least a dozen leather-wrapped dashboards

YYZ-E55, do you have any more information regarding the availability of the off-road package with Bluetec? I still suspect its a torque thing in low range. Neither the diesel nor the ML63 appear to be available with the two speed transfer case. I'm guessing that mid 400's and mid 500's torque is too high for the driveline in low range, although I would have thought that could be mitigated by the transmission?

From my perspective the Bluetec is the way to go, but I was hoping to get the off-road package as well. Lots of terrain would be reachable without the x-fer case with airmatic and skid plates. Are skid plates available? Kinda makes me want to wait and see what Jeep does with the JGC for MY 2013.
