You can play a DVD movie with both audio and video through the command screen when the vehicle is not in drive. When the ML350 is placed in gear the picture will go out but you can still hear the audio portion of the DVD.

I'm thinking about MODing the system so I can use it during driving. Does anyone know how it interferes with the backup camera? Here is the YouTube.
To everyone out there, I think you should ALWAYS drive responsibly, meaning not texting, watching a movie, doing your makeup, etc. I am able to watch video on my aftermarket NAV/DVD system, but it's for my front passenger and back seat occupants. When I'm driving alone, I just listen to the audio. There's no way I want to mess up my new 80K car.
