2012 Artic White ML350

So, I did two things.

I debadged my car and added Chrome Hood Fins.

Very nice! So much better without the badges. I too am thinking about the chrome fins - were they DIY or dealer installed?

I think if I was getting an ML350 I'd also de-badge it, just to keep people guessing what I have and it does look cleaner without the badge. But since I'm getting a 550, I might as well show it off since there is some snob appeal in that case.

What I definitely want to take off is the stupid "Blue Efficiency" badge on the sides. If it was a BlueTech, that would be one thing, but I don't see how that badge adds to the looks...and since the ML550 is still a gas hog, it seems stupid to tout that the vehicle is environmentally friendly, even if the technology does help to make it moreso.

The Chrome Hood Fins and the Chrome door handle inserts also make a big difference in the looks. The door handle inserts also protect the paint there, so they're practical as well.

They were DIY. They were bought on ebay for $200. I didn't want them installed at the service center because I had to leave the car for a full day. They were going to charge me around $350.

I'm also thinking about removing the "Blue Efficiency" badge. I just need to find time to do it.

As for the chrome door inserts, I don't know if they are going to be easy to put on as the chrome hood fins were. Maybe for those, I'll have the service center put them on.

.

I took the BluEfficiency badges off my 550. 2 minutes with dental floss and orange goo gone cleaner and there was no trace left. Felt contradictory to have those on a 402 HP SUV that gets 15 mpg.
