AMG Door Pins. They are almost worth the price.

My dealer gave me the short pins (part # 123 766 00 22 9051) for free and I put them on. More comfortable, for sure. Best of all, no cost!

It doesn't say on the site. So just front two doors?

I just bought these lock pins off of ebay for about $53, shipped from California.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Ben...e90fd1&vxp=mtr
But if you search with the string...
"Mercedes Benz MB AMG Emblem METAL Door Lock Pin Pins 4pcs W203 W210 W211 W220"
..you might find the same one's a few bucks cheaper from another seller. Even though they say AMG on the ends, they are knock-offs, for sure. But that price is a lot better than paying for the OEM versions. Quality was perfect.
They didn't fit flush to the top of the door on my 2013 ML550 like how I've seen pictures of how the OEM do, but extend up just a about a quarter inch...enough to grab with my finger tips and open the lock. I prefer them protruding a little like this, rather than be worried I couldn't open the door in an accident if for some reason the other two methods didn't work.
Attached are some before-and-after shots. I removed the those black ugly-shaped things with a set of piers. They were pretty tight at first, but eventually unscrewed. I used my hands to screw on the new metal pins until I couldn't turn them any further.
Very happy with how they look and for what little I paid (relative the the OEM's).

Liking the open grain... please post a pic of them in the locked position

Here's other type that also looks pretty good, and ever cheaper at $35 for the whole set, plus $10 shipping:

They are really finely finished, almost like jewelry, with brushed sides and polished laser-engraved tops. The eBay ones poseted here look cheap by comparison. Truth is, though, noone but us on this forum would ever notice the difference.

Few would notice, and they should be standard on the ML as the plastic pins are inconsistent with the rest of the vehicle. But I put them in simply because of the poke in the arm I got every day at work scanning the security card. Truth is you only need them up front, at the end of the day.

The quality seems perfect. I couldn't imagine them looking better or paying anything more, especially three more for the OEMs....unless I had money to blow.

Here's some photos with the door closed...not the best quality shots, but they at least show how much they protrude when closed. I tightened them on as hard as I could with my fingertips. I suppose I could try screwing them in more using some form of a cushioned pliers, but not sure I can or if it would be wise...wouldn't want to twist off the shaft they screw onto. But, like I said, I like them a bit up so I can still grab the top and unlock the door that way.

I just tested them out to see if they could be tighten down further and I think they can with some effort. I, too, prefer the look I've seen of them being flush when locked....but maybe I'm just claustrophobic, but I feel better having a little bit showing to grab if need be. I keep imagining myself in an accident, like having run off the road and submerged in a pond of water somewhere, and I can't get the door unlocked and reaching for the pin but since it's flush, can't grab it and realized I'm trapped. Okay, I admit, I I've probably watched too many horror movies.
I know pulling the door lever also unlocks the door....but is that a mechanical or electronic action? If it's mechanical, it's probably then no different than lifting the pin. But if electronic, and it is all shorted out due to water, then that lock pin may be the only way to unlock the door.

Old thread revival! I have a set of 4 of these if anyone is interested. I for some reason only have the boxes for 3 of the 4. Send me a PM if interested. They are the real MB "AMG" ones - not the ebay cheapies. I just traded in a 2014 Blutec on a GLE450

Last call on PMing me for the pins before I toss them. Just want shipping - flat rate small box. They were not cheap but I want them to have a good home in an ML! USA only folks.
