New ML350 suspension

Hi,

I test drove ML350 last week, which is equipped with Airmatic and 21 inch AMG package. When I set the suspension to Comfort, it was quite good. The ride was well controlled with a little stiff. However, when I set it to Sports, it was very stiff which liked sports car.

As I will not go for Airmatic option, just standard suspension. I like to see how the standard suspension is compared to Airmatic? Is it like Comfort mode?

Thanks

If the ML350 has big 21-inch or even 20-inch wheels, comfort will not be there. The ride will be much nicer with 19-inch wheels, even without AIRMATIC suspension.

I love the way my 2012 with 20"s and w/o airmatic rides, nothing stiff or uncomfortable, its a very relaxing drive, much, much better than my wife's W164 with 19"s.
IMO, there are no trade offs with the 20's in this car, You stil get a chunky sidewall, it looks better, sportier and the ride is as good as with the std wheels, which Ive tested extensively.
Just my $0.2 c

Hello! I am looking to test drive a ML350 with the air suspension and 21" wheels. I am debating wether or not to get a Ml350, or ML550. Can you please mention what dealer you test drove this 350 at?

Thanks!

I was planning on getting the BlueTec or ML350, but once I drove the ML550 I was sold. A big car like that really needs the extra power. The ML550 seemed to handle a little differently, too....more solid....maybe due to the additional engine weight or differently tuned suspension (or just my imagination).

Undoubtedly the V8 suspension is tuned differently than the six's. It would be expected that it would be a slightly more sport-tuned setup.
