So over-all........how has it been ?????
To all my W166 guys from a W163 and W164 guy......gripes..pros, cons....performance, luxury, how solid, looks................At this point, I have had my 11 550 for almost 2 years, and by far it has been my best ML...other than a few rattles and a new waterpump, all has been good....and the 382 HP is ridiculous !!!!!!! Unless, when the mid - model changes come in 14, they do something about the rear, especially the tail lights, I might have to look in a different direction..............Appearance, is a huge thing for me !!!!!

I am thinking 2016 for a facelift, 2018 for a full model change.
Said that, IMO my 2012 is waaaay better than my wifes 2010 W164, comfort, power and handling wise, I love the command system, the rear view camera, the driver assist pkg, and all the things that were not avaliable in the W164.
The interior is one of the best out there and the fit and finish is superior in every aspect. no rattles, squeaks, creaks. I love it.
Just placed an order for another one with the AMG exterior package which really enhances the look imo.

I think my 2012 is far nicer looking than my 08 was and hey, 402 HP and a mountain of twin turbo induced torque beats the old V8 in every way. I don't need quad exhaust to put my foot down and blast down the road with a smile on my face! Not sure what gripe you have about the tail lights, I think they are very sharp.
You should pull the trigger and enjoy a new ML 550 on the nice country roads north of Guelph like Wellington 19 from Fergus up above Belwood Lake.

can't stand a minute the looking of the rear lamps of ml prior to w166. one of the reasons bought my ml this year is because mb redesign the rear lamps of their MLs.
