MoterTrend 2013 ML GL First Test - Aug. 16, 2012
While I know this is the ML forum, I thought others still might find this recent article interesting, especially the photos of the interior, since the ML shares so much with the GL in this regard:

The performance comparisons to other SUVs is also interesting.

I like the following statement they made - right on!
"What should those GL shoppers expect to pay? The base price of a GL350 is $63,305 with destination. Let's look at the competition. The base price for an all-wheel drive Cadillac Escalade is $66,715, and let's be honest, the GL makes the Cadillac look like a covered wagon in terms of build and material quality".
And just think, we have a vehicle even better than the GL in the ML350. Why do I say that? Well, simple, because I own an ML350!

I think the GL looks great and love the extra hp in the 550. If I had more than 2 kids or a couple of big dogs it would be a no-brainer to move up to the GL.

A bit off topic perhaps, but there's a wide range of HP and torque numbers assigned to the twin turbo 4.7L MB engine we see in several MB vehicles. Does anybody know how MB is tweaking the engine to achieve the various numbers? Is it as simple as MB is using different levels of boost for the various engines?

Yes I believe its pretty simple to dial up the boost to increase power. I have thought about an aftermarket upgrade as there are several companies promising over 100 hp gain but I am worried about screwing with my warranty.
