SD memory card option

Hey guys, I hope ya can help me out. I tried to search for the information with no luck and figured someone on this forum can easily answer my question. I was wondering for people who have the Premium 1 Package, is there a SD memory card reader in the center console?

I know it's an option to have the SD memory card in-dash for just $49, but if it's already in the console I won't need the in-dash one.

Thanks

Ahhhh... Thanks 27trout. I don't know what I was smoking. Until it gets build, I'm gonna continue contemplating if I should add/remove options. I've been indecisive about the color too about hundred times now..

49 for a card?????
What are they smoking?
Option flipper LOL someone was talking about rear seat DVD entertainment and adding after. NEVER pass on the factory built in. Looks so much cleaner safer and integrates with HK the best

I agree that factory installed is better than dealer install. But I just don't like how the rear seat entertainment looks from factory this time. I'm looking for aftermarket that actually put the screen in the headrest. Has anyone here done that MOD?

That was an easy one. The only colour we have not had before - Palladium!
But then we 've never had black, or then again....

I can't decide on color either. Black, Steel Grey, Palladium Silver, or Iridium Silver?

Ordered iridium silver but still contemplating for the metallic black.

Has anyone tried using the upgrade audio system to rip audio CDs? Does it somehow incorporate the album cover picture?

Hi, Sorry, a little late to the party, What info can be stored and retrieved from the SD memory card slot, does it work the same as the USB Port in the center console??

I know you can store, and play,MP3's from the SD card. That's all I do with mine (I converted my 5,000 song CD collection into MP3's) but there could well be other things you can do...other music formats you can use.But 5000 MP3's on a 32GB SD card works perfectly for me.

I went through the process of burning about 2000 songs onto my Hard Drive. It took forever...unlike with my BMW (which took minutes).

Wow, that's awesome to have your whole collection in the car now.. I was hoping it can ripe straight from an audio CD so I' can ask to borrow my friend's CD for a weekend. 10 GB HD is no joke.

2000 songs isn't my entire collection, they're the top favorites that I could fit onto the HD (which is now full).Be aware that it takes a long, long time to burn that many songs...MB's method is very time consuming. But it is good once you've completed the task.Plan on it either taking weeks or months to fill your HD or plan on taking lots of long drives.Doing it in your driveway will kill your battery.

Wow, if that's the case, I'm gonna take advantage of the SD memory card then.. I usually just listen to the current top hits anyways.. <"Call me maybe" starts to play in the background> hehe..

Far better to use USB jump drives and the SD slot to play your songs, rather than downloading to the hard drive. Much more convenient and storage is unlimited. Having said that, I play complete operas from Sirus' Metropolitan Opera channel. Can you download the satellite radio program to the hard drive in real time while you are driving and listening? These operas can be several hours in length but even just capturing certain parts and excerpts would be nice to do.
