Pano roof sun shade. Is this normal?

This is my first car with pano roof. They are very nice features on the weather perfect day. On the bright and sunny day, I still have a little bit of sun shining through the sun shade into the cabin, eventhough the sun shade is closed. Is this normal? The sun shade in my car looks like a thin piece of roof fabric without any thick layers on top of it. It surely block some sun, but I still can see it through the sun shade. Just want to make sure that this is normal.

Yep, that's the way this one is designed. I'm fine with it, but there have been complaints it doesn't block heat as well as the more typical sliding panels.

I liked the pano but living here in Florida I knew it just wouldn't work.

Thank you Greg for the info. I just want to make sure that it's was designed that way, since It looks a bit cheap with just a thin pieces of fabric with no lining and stiching around the edges.

I believe it is the same material that is used in the S class rear window shades. The one thing I would have liked would be to control each roof panel shade independently.

Yes, it works that way. Mine transfered heat right into my head too. Not my favorite option.
I tinted the whole thing with two layers of 5% limo tint and it got better.
Next time I'll get the regular sunroof intead.

Taking the long roadtrip in ML350. Now! The Pano roof comes alive! It's very airy and doesn't feel boxed in. The glass roof also protect the sun shinning into the cabin very well. Start to love the roof now!

Yeah pano is nice on limited occasions. I have one now and previously on my Audi q7 in Vegas. The thin cloth seems to work better in this one as in Vegas I had to tint the sunroom. This one I don't but back in so cal, so that could be it. I'd rather not have the pano, but its nice for that occasional road trip
