Distronic Plus question

When the car comes to a complete stop for a while under distronic plus, is pressing the accelerator pedal the only way to get it started again?

The manual is not very clear. And I read it somewhere (such as this) that you can also move the distronic control level to get the car moving again, but I cannot get it to work.

Either touch the gas or pull the cruise control lever toward you and release.

Of course, the car in front needs to be far enough away that the sensors will allow you to start moving.

Thanks. Last time I did this, the LEDs segment lights on the dial disappeared and the display asked me to set speed again.
Are there two positions on the lever like up/down settings?
I'll give it another try next time.

I just pull the cruise lever. Then the distronic does all the work. I find myself looking at other stuff when it is engaged knowing that all I have to do is steer.

I got it to work now, not sure what happened the first time.
It's still a bit unnerving to just sit and wait for the car to brake when approaching a slowing car in front.

But sooooo cooool EH!
I do wish it excellerated slower to gain speed as it kind of erases the fuel milage gains of cruise. IE changing lanes it rockets off to catch up
