Adaptive High Beam Assist inconsistent
For those with the Lighting Package, how is the AHBA working for you? Mine does not work consistently. So, switched on in the computer, and combination stalk pused forward, the symbol comes on. But, when I drive down a very dark road near my house the high beams don't come on. Then, seeminlgly randomly they do come on elsewhere and dip down for approaching traffic. Very frustrating.

Mine works like that too. When entering a dark area it seems to take its time switching to high beams. Then any light be it from a car or a street light returns it to low beams. But I got the night vision assist which really helps. One of the reasons I got it was an ever increasing propensity for people dressed in black to cross streets in the middle of the block.

Don't worry guys , your AHBA is OK.
I was had same concerns and worry, but I have discovered that it really is intellegent. It decides how far you need to see at that speed. So it is speed sensitive plus the darkness of the area.If you are slow in speed in a small country road you need to switch it to manual if you really want high beam. but if you are driving at 40mph or so it comes on in dark road as it knows you have to see far away , when you are slow it thinks you do not need to look far ahead.
Does this make sense?
Give it a try , but do not speed too much on a small road while testing your lights and cause a problem!

emran is correct. I live in the country and there are no street lights at all. I got the Lighting package because I needed long, wide beams to better see the deer at night. I am very pleased with AHBA so far. They are very responsive and quick to change when traffic is detected in front of you or coming at you. The high beams will not come on if you are going slow, as emran said. When I am going that slow I do not need high beams as the wide lighting provided by low beam is sufficient.

Not that it is that big of a deal but I think I would like the high beams to be on all the time when selected, except of course for traffic. Anybody out there have a rational explanation why M-B doesn't see the need for us to have high beams below 30 with the AHBA activated?
